My name is Chua Chee How, ???. I’m a Singaporean.

I’m a Linux enthusiast and I like programming. I’m most comfortable developing Web applications with PHP. My real interest, however, is in C# programming with Mono. I’m trying to pick that up now in my spare time. Not too long ago, I found out that the C# language itself undergoes continual revisions and that (at least according to my impressions) there are some incompatibilities between the later revisions and the earlier ones. To me, it means that whatever code I write now will have to be rewritten when the new version of the language is available. That isn’t too encouraging for my time-strapped lifestyle - I think I’ll stick with PHP for now until I have some spare time on my hands to pick up something else.

Aside from IT, my other hobby is archery which I picked up during my varsity days. Regrettably, I’ve not been shooting for the past two years due to work commitments. But I’ve given my promise to an archery friend that I will arrange to pick up the sport again by March 2008. I hope to pick it up again and be able to meet my friends for shooting sessions soon.

I use openSUSE on a daily basis. Contrary to what most people believe, Linux is ready for most users. Unless you need to run applications that only run on Windows or Mac, typical office work such as word processing, image editing and browsing the Internet can be done with applications that come with openSUSE. I encourage people to try Linux whenever possible.
